During the 2011 IRI, we enjoyed a catered dinner, served on the playing field.
Our volunteer field setup crew did a wonderful job on Thursday, as they started setting up the field at noon. By 6:00pm, we ran a practice match. This enabled us to have a catered dinner on the playing field, with Qdoba supplying the food. We had about 90 people eat dinner, and we raised $500 to our local charities this year.
Attendees had a good time, so we think this is something that we will do each year.
Chris Fultz, IRI planning committee chairman, addresses the mentors. Chris recently read the book The Tipping Point, and was telling us about some of the high points of the book.
We had just enough food for everyone. At the end of the dinner, mentors told the student servers that they wanted extra drinks by putting up mini-bots up the towers.
Thank you all for helping make this initial effort of a field mentor dinner a success!
